I am a first-year volunteer living in the South Chicago at Sr. Martin's Convent in community with the Dominican Sisters of Springfield. I am ministering with formerly incarcerated adults at St. Leonard's Ministries where I will be tutoring program participants and helping the executive director with special projects and events. I am a recent graduate from Fordham University in the Bronx, NY where I received a Bachelor's in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing and a minor in English Literature. While at Fordham, I mentored youth in the Bronx and worked with the area's homeless population. From my service experiences in the Bronx, I was able to better understand the community I worked in and was able to use my education to benefit the greater good. I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to serve others and focus on a new ministry for the year.
I was born and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland; 20 minutes north of Washington, D.C. I am a vegetarian who enjoys running, practicing yoga, biking, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles. I am ready to move away from the east coast for this year and find out if Chicago is, in fact, a cleaner, nicer version of NYC.
