My name is Elizabeth Droel. I was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. I majored in Theology and minored in Pastoral Ministry. I will be serving in Amityville, NY on Long Island at a place called Bethany House. The organization has three temporary living apartment complexes, and is working on acquiring a fourth. It also provides job training classes, child care, drug rehabilitation counseling and workshops, and a variety of other social services geared towards homeless women and children. Service is an obvious choice for an after-college plan. Social justice was incorporated into my life since birth, and I hope that my time as a Dominican volunteer will provide me with some direction. I am looking forward to all of the components of being a Dominican Volunteer: service, communal living, and adventures in NY.

I like art: making and looking at. I also like movies. I have an unnatural love of sprinkles and ice cream cones.
