julia

Julia is from Genoa, Ohio and graduated from Regis University in Denver with a Master’s degree in Education; her undergraduate degree was in Theatre at Saint Mary’s College. She has been teaching for several years as well as counseling at Camp WeHaKee, an all-girls summer camp supported by the Sinsinawa Dominicans in Wisconsin. She heard about DVUSA from DV ’10 ’11 Rachel DeBruin, who served for two years in San Francisco.

Julia is serving in Chicago, IL, where she is teaching at Casa Juan Diego, an after school program in a Mexican-American neighborhood designed to keep the students out of gangs. Julia will share community at the House of Connection in Chicago with Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa, a community that has hosted volunteers since 1983.
