House of Connections

The House of Connections has been housing Dominican Volunteers and Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa for many years. The community was given its name because it was established as a way to connect the two neighborhoods of North and South (now Little Village) Lawndale. North Lawndale is primarily an African American neighborbood and Little Village is predominantly Hispanic. Until August of 2005, an adult literacy center with GED preparation and ESL classes was operated out of the house. The Connections Learning Center now operates out of the old rectory across the alley from the House of Connections.
